What is concierge medicine?
Clients pay an annual fee to their physician’s practice and, in return, the physician agrees to limit the number of patients he treats, while offering more personalized services than a traditional practice. Click here to review our Membership Agreement
Is this membership tax-deductible?
Possibly. We recommend that you discuss this with your accountant as your medical expenses will need to exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income, which is rarely the case for an average individual.
Can a Health Savings Account be used to pay for the membership fee?
Probably, but you will want to check with your individual HSA guidelines.
Is my membership fee covered by insurance?
Probably not, unless you have an executive health provision, but do check with your employer.
May I meet the doctor prior to joining?
For those who have not previously met Dr. Castro, you may schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation with him.
What happens to my fee if I need to move out of the area or if I decide to change to another practice?
The fee will be returned to you on a pro-rated basis.
What about my medical insurance?
Although PrivateHealth MD PA does not have any contractual agreements (not “in network”) with any health care plans, we will always file your claims as a courtesy to our members. Clients are advised to continue health care coverage in case specialist, diagnostic, and hospital services are needed. You will still be responsible for the payment of deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance to hospital, specialty, and diagnostic providers.
Who will see me for urgent care or admit me to the hospital when the doctor is out of town?
Often, I will continue to be available via e-mail or cell phone, even if I am out of town. Arrangements will be made with a private physician or hospitalist group to cover issues which require office visits or hospitalization. These providers will bill your insurance directly and you will be responsible for deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance.
At the time of an office visit, what expenses will I incur?
None. We will bill your insurance company directly and handle all the paperwork.
Where do I go for STAT labs?
We will draw the blood and then transport it to the hospital, or send you directly to Winter Park Hospital.
Where will I get X-rays, CTs and MRIs?
Any facility that works with your insurance carrier. Winter Park Memorial Hospital and University Diagnostic Institute (UDI) are both conveniently located across the street from my office.
