About Ivan Castro, MD
Dr. Ivan Castro is one of Central Florida’s most respected and recognized physicians. A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Illinois Medical School, Dr. Castro has a passion for quality health care. Named “Top Doctor” of Internal Medicine by Orlando Magazine, as well as Chief of Staff and Chairman of Internal Medicine at Winter Park Hospital for many years, Dr. Castro brings to his patients a sterling reputation as well as a truly compassionate bedside manner.
Dr. Castro believes in an intense evaluation of all aspects of a patient’s well-being. Methodically, he begins his diagnosis as he addresses each one of your issues, concerns or symptoms. Through a healthy, respectful dialogue and with his knowledge and experience—he then prescribes an appropriate course of therapy and treatment.

Marla, LPN: Nursing
Aiding you in your health care every step of the way, Marla brings nursing expertise to PHMD. A true local, Marla graduated from Lyman High School, then completed her nursing training in Central Florida. Over the years she has gained hands-on experience in Internal Medicine, OB-GYN, Cardiology, and Endocrinology. Marla takes a special interest in diabetic care and treatment, taking time to counsel patients on living with diabetes. With her broad experience, Marla truly understands your health care needs. She feels that being a part of PHMD validates her love of nursing and she looks forward to working with you and Dr. Castro to achieve your health care goals.
Amanda: Reception
Amanda comes to us from a large medical practice where she held a phlebotomist position for 7 years. She is currently a student at Valencia Community College where she takes courses for her nursing degree. Amanda enjoys working in a small medical practice where fellow staff and patients become family. She enjoys her position as receptionist and back up phlebotomist because it allows her to interact with many of you one on one. It is Amanda’s goal to make our patients feel comfortable and relaxed with her in the office. She takes pride in knowing she has made your day better.
Jenn: Accounting and Billing
Many of you already know Jenn from her many years working with Dr. Castro at his former practice. Jenn is a valuable asset to PHMD for her knowledge in internal medicine and her bright disposition. Jenn began working with Dr. Castro in 2003 and followed him to PHMD. It is her goal to get to know patients on an individual level to provide more personalized care. She enjoys the feeling of accomplishment her job brings. Besides working as our accounting and billing manager, Jenn is also proficient in IT systems and helps keep our network up and running. Jenn enjoys spending time with her family and her daughter Riley, born 12/11/2010. Many of you have gotten to meet Riley and watch her grow with PHMD.
